In the year 2000, the awardees included:

IRTE National Awards 2000

The IRTE National Road Safety Awards have been instituted to acknowledge extraordinary contributions by individuals and organisations towards development of positive road culture and effective traffic management in India. These awards will be given away biannually under the following categories:

 
 
 
  • Organisation Development in State Policing with Special Focus on Traffic
    Management & Road Safety
  • Officers in Police, Transport Departments, Municipal Bodies and Individuals
    who have Contributed to Traffic Management & Road Safety
  • Institutions & Organisations that have Instituted Schemes & Programs for
    Building Up Infrastructure in Promoting Road Safety & Traffic Management.
