Traffic Management
IRTE has rich faculty which includes enforcement specialists, police officers, transport planners, traffic engineers, medical doctors, road safety experts and automobile engineers.
Training sessions are interactive and deal with prevalent road traffic and road environment conditions. Different modules have been prepared for officers and subordinate staff. The one, two, three day and weekly modules cover the entire aspects of :

- Accident investigation, reconstruction and analysis
- Understanding road user behaviour
- Importance of data collection and its analysis
- Enforcement of dynamic violations
- Intelligence led policing
- Basics of traffic engineering including traffic control devices
- Protecting vulnerable road users
- Investigation of traffic violations traffic violations
- Speed management
- Parking management and enforcement
- Enforcement of drunken driving
- Public interaction
- Promoting helmet and seatbelt usage and their enforcement
A scientific based traffic drill is also taught to traffic police constables for efficient, and systematic physical control of traffic at intersections.
IRTE has had the opportunity to train the trainers of traffic police as well as traffic police personnel from various states including the

IRTE has also conducted workshops and training programmes at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Police Academy, Phillaur, Punjab,Central Detective Training School, Chandigarh. IRTE has also been invited by the Indian Air Force and the Indian Army for training their officers in traffic management.
