       COURSE STRUCTURE

       About M.Sc. Traffic Management Course

       This is a two year program spread over four semesters. In the first semester the students have core papers. While in the second, third and
       fourth semesters they have elec ves in the form of Discipline specific, Open or Interdisciplinary Elec ves and founda ons elec ves along
       with the Core Papers. A core paper is a compulsory paper to be studied by a candidate as a core requirement to complete the requirements
       of a degree. The Discipline Specific Elec ve is a paper wherein a candidate can choose from a pool of papers of the main discipline which
       supports the course. They are also mandatory as per course curriculum. Whereas an Open Elec ve paper is chosen generally from an
       unrelated discipline with an inten on to seek exposure. The Founda on Elec ves are value-based courses which may enhance the
       proficiency or skill of a candidate..
       Pedagogy


       Classroom lectures, laboratory-based prac cal sessions, seminars, case studies, group discussions, video conferencing by eminent experts
       from India and abroad, summer internship, and project work related to the area of Traffic Management.

       Choice Based Credit System

       Choice Based Credit System (CBCS): The CBCS provides an opportunity to the students to select from the prescribed courses comprising
       Core, Elec ve (Discipline Specific and Generic), and Ability Enhancement Courses (Ability Enhancement Compulsory Courses and Skill
       Enhancement Courses).
      INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE STUDENTS


       (A) Core Courses:
       A Core Paper (C): There are core papers in every semester. A core paper is a
       compulsory  paper  to  be  studied  by  a  candidate  as  a  core  requirement  to
       complete the requirements of a degree. These are offered by the respec ve
       departments, and based on papers that are unique to the programme and
       hence impera ve for study to earn a degree in a given discipline/programme.

       (B) Elec ve Course:

       Elec ve course is a course which can be chosen from a pool of
       papers. It may be:
          Ÿ Suppor ve to the discipline of study
          Ÿ Providing an expanded scope
          Ÿ Enabling an exposure to some other discipline/ domain
          Ÿ Nurturing student’s proficiency/skill
          Ÿ
       An elec ve may be "Generic elec ve" focusing on those courses which
       add  generic  proficiency  to  the  students.  Discipline  Centric  may  be   Dr. Rohit Baluja Delivering Lecture in Traffic Management Centre
       chosen from an unrelated discipline. The la er may be called as an
       open elec ve.
                                                                   It  is  a  special  paper  where  a  candidate  carries  out  the

       2.     Open Elec ve (O): An elec ve paper chosen generally from a
              un–related discipline with an inten on to seek exposure is
              called an Open Elec ve/Interdisciplinary. Choice may be from
              the poll of subjects/Departments of M.D. University, Rohtak.
       3.     Founda on course (F): This paper will be opted to enhance
              the proficiency/skill. It may be related to discipline of study or
              may  be  a  generic  proficiency  enabler.  The  University  shall
              provide to the students a pool of Founda on courses from
              various UDT.
